The fight will be for the 4th spot. Bell, CHHS and ET will be the top 3 teams. I'm anxious to see how it plays out. The game of the season could be the final week of district with CHHS and Bell potentially playing for the title. You may be right. I think those first three (ET, CHHS & Bell) are locks. Aside from the district title, it will be interesting to see what shakes out for the 4th playoffs spot. I'm fairly confident in Grapevine, but they are not a lock. Mac's problem is, they have a tendency to lose random games they shouldn't, like last year to Haltom. They play Grapevine pretty close, coming up just short losing 10-7. In reality, Grapevine controlled the game, with Mac's only score coming off a 69 yard bomb, which is something you would expect from a fast team. I was at that game. It wasn't nearly as close as the three point score difference would indicate.

Henigan has done a good job with a lot less talent than Trinity, Bell, and CHHS. Now that the middle schools have been running the same systems as the high school for the last three years the sub varsity teams in the Grapevine feeder schools are improving pretty dramatically. JV was a little weak last year but the 9th graders had a good year. The 8th and 7th grade teams at one of the middle schools had good seasons also. The Mustangs struggle with numbers and size. GHS has lagged behind the top three teams in the district in this area. Grapevine has not had the impact QB the other schools have had. Hopefully the returning two-year starter will have a great year for the Mustangs this fall. There are several Mustang juniors who will have to step up on defense this fall, but they should get the job done, they have some talent. Grapevine SHOULD finish 4th or better, but who knows?

Excuse the oblique reference in my email. I did read the scouting report on CHS.. My question was looking for a little more detail into ET. Having graduated from ET a long time ago followed them for years, I was looking for some insight after the huge graduation losses this year.

Having graduated from ET a long time ago followed them for years, I was looking for some insight after the huge graduation losses this year. I'm sure "Admin" could help, being close to the program. Sounds like a broken record to say this, but it really is a matter of reloading, not rebuilding. Trinity has players all around at every position (QB?). For those of us who don't memorize the roster, go to the JV games to know those players, go to spring practice etc, we are left in the dark. Trinity will have the players. The only difference between a year like this and a year where they have a lot of players coming back, is this year we don't know their names. A Running Back will have to step up, but by committee, they should be fine. There is an incoming Soph that got a pretty good amount of touches in spring. There are some JV RB's that should get an opportunity. OL should be pretty solid. In fact, from what I have heard, there is a stud incoming Soph that got a lot of practice time on the starting unit. There is competition at QB, so last years guy is not necessarily gonna get the nod. TE is set, with a District Soph of the Year returning next season. DL is probably the MOST solid returning unit. Certainly the unit with the fewest ?'s. Only one guy lost, but his replacement got a lot of PT last season. LB has several candidates. Secondary is going to be the biggest ?. Both Linebacker and Secondary will have big shoes to fill and lose the most from last season. It's gonna be a tough year, at least starting out. The good news is, the D-Line is going to help a lot. If the D-Line can be their usual run stuffing selves AND provide consistent pressure on the opposing QB's, it will help the rest of the D tremendously.

Thanks for the update. I remember and loved the day when I could read more complete updates of players to look out for. I believe one thing is certain, CHS will be the best district challenge for ET since SGP several years ago.

Dangerous and capable of beating you.

Two things that I believe will happen in this district:
Trinity will be unbeaten. One Irving school will make the playoffs
