...but will they? They will face heavy competition from the usual suspects in Trinity, Allen, Skyline, Martin, DeSoto, uh... ...some other teams I can't think of right now. One thing I know after watching TXHSFB all these years, anything can happen. Any team can be beaten under the right circumstances. What do you guys think? I didn't mention LT or Katy because they will surely be Division II.

I totally agree, SLC will be the team to beat but it won't be easy to go back to back. As long as the team can stay healthy they will be an elite team.
Alot of people don't realize how good SLC's defense is until they have to play them.

With Kenny Hill coming back the only thing I can see stopping them is a team with a ball control offense and a FAST defense. Right now Trinity and Allen fit the bill but time will tell.
Keep Kenny off the field and score on long drives.

I think SLC fans were a bit surprised to win last year much like Katy was in 2008. We all know how hard it is to pull of a back to back state championship but SLC has a few to look back to. I don't know enough about what they bring back to say but I would never count them out.

I agree Coug. Hard to repeat. It's to early right now to bet on anyone else. Once the season starts we will see who else pokes their head out. Should be fun.

Ready or not...Here I am! It takes a lot to win it all...I know as a fan, I enjoyed the ride last year and all the other titles and never take anything for granted other than Carroll should be a tough out. Good luck to all and maybe we can make this board work.

Could be a storied battle between two titans. Trinity and Carroll wow!

I think Carroll and ET would meet in Round 3.

We got nobody coming back from a team that only made it 3 rounds last year.
